- סַמְתּוֹרָא, סַמְתָּרָאm. (comp. of סַם a. תורא, v. תְּרָא I; cmp. P. Sm. 2653 סם תרין) an emollient, esp. cosmetics. סַמְתַּר משחא, ס׳ רבותא cosmetic ointments (v. מִשְׁחָא I a. רְבוּתָא). Targ. Esth. 2:3; 9.Pl. constr. סַמְתּוֹרֵי. Ib. 12.
